MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Rev. Thomas Manyol Riek, Executive Director, PASS, Juba – South Sudan …
Peace in Action & Social Service Operational Plan, 2020, presents the strategic direction that will guide the organisation for the next 12 months in order to realize our vision for to envisage a Peaceful Country without discrimination and ethnic marginalization.
PASS is committed to being relevant to our partners, communities and government authorities, and helps achieve value for money in programming so as to improve efficiency and effectiveness in services delivery and contribute to poverty reduction in South Sudan.
This plan represents a well-defined PASS strategic goals, objectives and activities that
will enable PASS meet the socio-economic challenges in the country, taking into consideration our strength which resonates from our core values of 1) Faith, 2) Respect to dignity and culture 3) Transparency and integrity 4) Dedication and Commitment and 5) Team Work.
There exist some enormous environmental opportunities that can be tapped in order for PASS to realize its mission of empowering communities to self-reliance by implementing interventions in: 1) Health and Nutrition, 2) Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, 3) Food Security and Livelihood, 4) Child Protection and Gender Issues, 5) Community Empowerment, 6) Peace Building and Conflict Resolution and 7) Education, in the most sustainable manner. It is expected that a work plan, budget and finance plan will be produced on the basis of this operational plan.
The plan has been developed through a consultative approach involving the Secretariat, Managers and staff of PASS in South Sudan. PASS would like to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of Mr. George Agisa, of AGISA CONSULTING who facilitated the preparation of this operational plan and consolidated this document.
PASS is confident that, the implementation of the plan will be realized as a result of the commitment of all stakeholders which will enable the organization to have a meaningful contribution towards the prevention and alleviation of human suffering among vulnerable and impoverished households in the community. The prize, in doing so, is huge: a better life for millions of people, and a safer, more prosperous South Sudan.
Thanks
